Gastric Ulcers
Gastric ulcers are a kind of stomach ulcer which affects the lining of the stomach. Gastric ulcers are generally caused due to NSAIDs, ulcer bacteria called H.Pylori, gastric acids, or excess secretion of gastric juices or it may be caused due to certain type of medication. Consumption of tobacco, alcohol or caffeine may also result in gastric ulcers. The treatment for these ulcers is that doctors may prescribe medicines such that it reduces the secretion of gastric juices to protect the lining of the stomach. Unless the individual undergoes the treatment to completely eliminate the bacteria the person has a high risk of getting the ulcer again within one year. Gastric ulcers that do not heal even eight weeks after continuous medication should be re evaluated under multiple endoscopic biopsies. If the gastric ulcer is a non healing ulcer aggressive treatment to suppress the acid with full doses of a proton pump inhibitor medication is prescribed. A person affected with this ulcer vomits bright red blood or digested blood that appears to be brown in color. When the doctor diagnoses that the ulcer has developed to a severe stage he may prescribe for surgery it is generally required only when there is high complications and malignances’,
